Til Death Do Us Part

The university has rules. The University has the resources and means to ensure compliance with these rules. Unfortunately for the nameless bride at the heart of Timothy Woodward Jr until death do us part, she is about to discover the true extent of this secret institution. Is the action-packed journey worth the revelations that come at the end?

It’s the big day for the bride (producer Natalie Burn) and the groom (Ser’darius Blaine), both of whom work for the university. The groom had to convince the university to bend some of its regulations in order for the loving couple to move forward. And it makes it worse when the bride leaves the groom at the altar. Hoping to bring her back alive, the best man (Cam Gigandet) and the groomsmen (DY Seo, Neb Chopin, Sam Lee Haring, Orlando Jones, Alan Silva and Pancho Muller) go to her house, hoping to talk sense into the lady.

However, the bride is not interested in talking. So, the wedding party is forced to use the skills and combat training the university has given them. But the bride is also from there, so she can fight back. All the while, there are flashbacks that highlight the work that brought the bride and groom closer, as seeing a vacationing couple (Jason Patrick and Nicole Arlene) puts things into perspective. So why, oh, why then did the bride bail on the wedding? And what is the university actually, and why are they so feared?

until death do us part Begins in the church as people gather, the wedding party arrives, and apparently, it’s going to be a romantic comedy (or drama). but it’s not. Writers Chad Lowe and Shane Dax Taylor take a different path, which is refreshing. while comparisons to Kill Bill They are inevitable, there are much worse movies to be influenced by. The combination of comedy, interpersonal dynamics, and kick-ass action works here, especially because the story structure plays its hand close to the vest for as long as possible.

“…the bride Not interested in talking. So, the wedding party is forced to use their skills and martial training…”

Woodward Jr. keeps the momentum going and the hand-to-hand fights exciting. The bride has to change her fighting styles depending on which groomsmen she is fighting. It makes things feel fresh and fun. The director also maintains the proper balance between comedy, action and romance, which is essential for the ending to work.

The cast of until death do us part Also do an excellent job. Bren is great, playing the love for the groom in an authentic way and at the same time selling her concern for their future together. Blaine is charismatic as the groom-to-be, and the flashbacks allow him to flex his softer side. When Gigandt started, he was a blank slate. But whoever it was who told him to lean into comedy made the right call. from something like Johnson is bad To violent night, he proved to have excellent comedic chops. They are here to great use, and Gigandet has never been better.

It’s also delightful to see Jones back in action. Patrick doesn’t have a big role, but his natural commanding presence makes the most of it. His chemistry with Arlene is also excellent, making this couple’s subplot/backstory something worth investing in.

until death do us part He is a surprising little action. The direction effortlessly balances the action, comedy and heart, while the script and story structure reveal their hand at just the right time. Now add the excellent cast, and one gets a fun ride full of action, romance and humor.
